Practical Questions

Frequently asked questions

What if the cottage kitchen isn't very big?+
Most self-catering kitchens are absolutely fine. We just need a working oven and a four-burner hob (gas or induction), some prep space, and somewhere to plate up. Tell us about the kitchen when you enquire — or send a couple of photos — and we'll flag anything that needs adjusting well before your date.
How many people can you cater for?+
From an intimate dinner for two up to large celebration houses of twenty or more. Let us know your group size — and the cottage's sleeping capacity, if it's a bigger booking — when you enquire.
Do you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?+
Yes — always. Just add the details in the message field when you enquire and we'll build them into the menu.
Do we need to bring or hire anything?+
If the cottage has a working oven, hob, and basic crockery and cutlery, that's normally everything we need. We bring the ingredients, cooking equipment, and printed menus ourselves.
What if we're not sure of exact numbers yet?+
Enquire with your best estimate — we can confirm final numbers closer to the date.
How far in advance should we book?+
At least two weeks' notice, especially for weekends and peak season — but it's always worth asking, even at short notice.
What areas do you cover?+
Cottages across the Peak District, Manchester and Cheshire — including Chinley, Glossop, Sheffield, Didsbury, Macclesfield, Prestbury and Rochdale. Not listed? Ask anyway.
