Frequently asked questions

What is Peak Private Dining?+
Peak Private Dining brings a full restaurant experience into your own home. One of our chefs cooks a seasonal, made-to-order menu on-site, so you and your guests get a professional dining evening without leaving the house.
What's included in the evening?+
Ryan manages both the cooking and the hosting, striking a balance between chef and host throughout the evening. Past events have run from a straightforward three-course dinner up to a full nine course tasting menu with canapés and a palate cleanser, all cooked fresh on the night. Bespoke menus are printed for all your guests.
Can the menu be customised?+
Yes. Menus change with the seasons and are tailored to your preferences — past guests have had dishes adjusted to include their favourites. Premium upgrades are available, including a Derbyshire venison haunch substitution and a Peak District cheese course (+£15pp each). A fully bespoke menu is also available on request.
Do you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?+
Yes — dietary requirements and allergies are always catered for on request. Just add the details in the message field when you enquire.
How many guests can you cater for?+
From intimate dinners for two up to parties of twenty.
What areas do you cover?+
Based in the Peak District, covering up to a thirty mile radius.
How far in advance should I book?+
At least two weeks notice, especially for weekends.
Is a deposit required, and what's your cancellation policy?+
A deposit of 50% of your total bill is payable before the event and the remaining 50% after. Our cancellation policy is a full refund of your deposit up to 10 days before your event.
Do I need to provide anything?+
A full working oven and four burner stove (either induction or gas), cutlery, plates, an area for food preparation, and plating up & cleaning space. All cooking/cleaning equipment, ingredients, menus, chef & a server (if required) are supplied by us. If you have an Aga, please let us know in advance.
Do you have insurance and a food hygiene rating?+
Yes — we have full public liability insurance and a five star hygiene rating.
